I pulled out of the driveway yesterday morning to go to work and almost ran this grouse over. It stopped and looked. I stopped and looked. Then I pulled out camera and snapped a lone shot. I might have tried to get closer but a truck hauling lawn mowing gear zoomed up behind me and was immediately annoyed that I wasn't running over the bird and getting on with things.
