File this photo under "what the...?" On our train ride through Switzerland I captured this at one of the train stops. Near as I could tell this soldier (gun on back, sitting on duffle bags) was surfing the net or maybe playing Doom. Actually I imagined this implausible story that guys like this were stationed all over Europe, using instant messaging to stay in touch which went something like:
"All clear in Interlaken"
"All clear in Bern"
"Hey, did you hear the one about the Yogi?"
"All clear in Amsterdam"
"What did the Yogi say when he walked into the Zen Pizza Parlor?"
"All clear in Lyon"
"All clear in Frankfurt"
"Make me one with everything."
"All clear in Zurich"
"Ok, ok...When the Yogi got the pizza, he gave the proprietor a bill. The proprietor pocketed the bill.
"All clear in Milano"
"All clear in Brugge"
"Yogi said "Don't I get change?" The proprietor said, "Change must come from within."
"All clear in Interlaken"

The whole time we were in the station this guy never looked up, never seemed to be aware of his surroundings. Which seemed odd for someone with a rifle strapped across their back and presumably on lookout of some sort. Then again maybe he was in transit.

Rion Vernon does some nice graphics work on this Creatures & Freaks feature gallery. Not sure what it's from, but the images say "Copyright Dreamworks Interactive" on them, so maybe it's from an animation or video game?

He also has a "pinup toons" gallery, kind of along the lines of Jessica from Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
