A Penguin Angle on the Ox: Day One at Macworld

With a name like StoveChow it's gotta taste good...

StoveChow makes fuel for pellet stoves, as does Energex out of Canada. A new StoveChow plant is under construction down in Claremont, NH which is good news for local pellet stove owners. We've had our stove for about six years. You pour a bag of pellets into the top of the stove, typically once a day unless it's really cold, and that's that. Since the stove is electronically controlled you can hook it to an electronic thermostat and vary the intensity of the burn based on the time of day and house temp. Our stove needs to be stopped and cleaned about every three weeks, unless we use a really cheap pellet fuel which generates more ash. Pellet stoves burn very efficiently, you can't see any smoke coming out of the chimney, and considering that we are putting around 21 bags (40lbs each) or 840lbs of fuel through the stove in the course of three weeks it's pretty incredible that there's only a couple gallons of ashes to clean up. Another cool feature is that you can use fuels other than wood pellets: seed corn, olive pits, nut shells, and probably others. Just depends on what's readily (and cheaply) available in your area.

why is there on web address for stovechow ?? I use stove chow because it burns the best in my pellet stove.
Other types seem to clinker and produce more ash.
