Sometimes, even Google gets the blues. I've been getting garbage pages back from Google more frequently lately. If you run into this you can usually temporarily fix it by changing the URL from www.google.com to www2.google.com (or www3).
On the bright side I re-discovered the Google phonebook search, which is pretty handy (Schools in Lebanon, NH) most of the time. It's also clumsy since it's mapping a wonderfully fluid geographical world into the false rigidity of keyword parcels. How was I to know that the business I'm looking for only looks like it's in Lebanon but is actually listed in the next town over. Spatial queries rule!
