I'm at the point in programming my game that I need to create the AI, a ruthless computer borne foe to play against. I figured there might be some mention of game algorithms on the net...yep, seems like everything is somehow linked to games and Game Theory...like actors all being within six degrees of Kevin Bacon.
What I really need is for the game to learn on it's own.
Scientists have now corrected their findings and announced that the universe is actually a boring old PC and not an iMac
There's a new wireless access system out called Sputnik which gives you free roaming wireless access in exchange for sharing your own network. It's not technology, it's Sputnikology! Actually this looks pretty cool. Using their software (windows only) and any old wireless card it will turn your PC/Laptop into a wireless network gateway. Meaning that anyone near our house (hikers, farmers, lumberjacks?) could share our bandwidth. Their locator doesn't show any access points out here and, according to their (mapblast) map, there are only seven in the SF area.
