Today at the grocery store I saw what has to be the most evil of all marketing tricks: they combined the cereal isle with the candy isle! Poor, poor parents.
I find everything (except perhaps rice cakes) in the supermarket unappealing if I've eaten a very large meal before going. Great for sticking to a budget :) Does that work with kids?
Probably not, at least not in my experience withe kids of various ages. Usually you avoid the candy aisle like the plague. Some stores even started offering candy free checkout lanes for parents with kids. What they lose in sales is probably made up for in reduced noise, candy being stuffed everywhere, and less checkout line congestion.
