Yesterday was non-stop rain and today it is sunshine and growth. I'm out checking on our berry bushes and down in the cedar mulch there's this mushroom poking its head out. I take a picture and think maybe I can do a time lapse shot as it grows?
This evening after our walk I'm showing the almost ripe berries to Faith and remember the mushroom. I decide to joke around and tell her that it's an egg instead, since it's almost the size of a chicken egg. She falls for it (ha!), looks at it for a bit, and then taps it. At which point it makes a completely unexpected "egg being tapped" sound. I pick it up and dang, it is an egg!
Now the question is how did it get there and what will be hatching?
Update 7/16/03: I don't think there will be any hatching. The egg is starting to smell.
