With funding from the military and the Dental institute(?!), researchers have figured out how silkworms and spiders create their silk. I like this snippet from the article:
"...but that did not solve the mystery of how orb web spiders, for instance, could hold a store of liquid protein and spin up to seven grades of reliable polymer cable from it, using only dead flies as energy."
Nicely done. What were the specs to catch that bad boy?
Where's the giraffe?
Half second exposure, f-stop 8.0, and camera reports focal length of 16.2mm, which I can't quite compute based on the other lenses involved. Telescope had a 10mm lens.
