I put the Canon A70 on manual mode and then cranked up the exposure to a couple seconds and the fstop pretty low, between 2.8 and 4. And changed ISO to 400.
Can't say I knew what I was doing (got to read that manual one of these days) but that's what seemed to work after taking lots of shots which were mostly black.
These were pretty grainy.
Oh, and I used my wide angle lens for once. At one point I was wishing for a fisheye lens as the entire sky lit up in colors and streaks.

Wow, great pix Jerry! I saw a great show driving home last night on I-91. A red glow to the northeast, and curtains of green to the west. I went back outside several times, but it seemed to have faded more each time.
How did you take the pics, (settings etc.)? I tried but got just blackness...?
