It turns out that my brother and my wife both like fish hatcheries. I can sort of see this with Chris, being a long time fishing fiend, but I've yet to discover the root of Faith's fish farm fascination.
So while driving the back-roads of Arizona we happened upon a hatchery and stopped to see the fish and put quarters in the fish-food bubble gum machines.
We swung through the information building on the way out. They had a few static displays of local stuffed animals and fish that looked bug eaten and ready for retirement. One wall featured glass display cases of butterflies and beetles.
I can't remember the spikey beetle's name but the butterfly is a dogface butterfly (California's state insect!), supposedly because the wing pattern looks like a poodle's face. We all thought it looked more like a cartoon duck or porpoise.
I particularly enjoyed the description for the Darkling Beetle. By the way, if you are casting a darkling, or any other bug, in your next movie or music video be sure to contact the Bugs are my business guy.
