Obligatory Dog Shot

Zeke in creek

Greetings from Atlantic City, Wyoming. The Wind River Mountains are this year's temperate rain forest. After a dozen years of drought and wildfires it has been raining almost daily. Not quite New England yet, but Lander is lush and green. Hope it continues for the rest of summer: water tables and reservoirs are still terribly depleted.

Zeke and I drove out over the weekend. Gas prices dropped as we got further West, with the lowest price in Iowa at a buck sixty. Nebraska was back up to two dollars, while Wyoming checks in at a buck eighty or ninety. Tune-up your vehicle and fully inflate the tires before heading out for Summer vacation. Don't let your dog talk you into running the air conditioning full blast. It is more economical to cool the dog down the old fashioned way.
