Faith and I went on a nice Sunday drive through the mountains of New Hampshire. On the way we randomly picked a sideroad attraction and ended up at the Quincy Bog near Rumney, NH.
It probably wasn't sporting all of its bog glory, being half frozen, but it was a nice little hike around the trail and Zeke enjoyed it immensely. The trail had lots of little plaques identifying the local fauna. I imagine this will be a good place to visit in late spring. Wear waterproof boots.
It went down to ten degrees at the house last night. To put our weather in perspective I've started to check the Mount Washington Observatory daily observation. They were at -4 degrees with 59 mph winds at four o'clock this morning.
The observers often include photos with their reports and some are quite breathtaking. Read the past observations and photos here (be sure to click images to get full size).
