Lovely use of narrow depth of field. In one sense the main subject feels too isolated in the centre of the frame - on the other hand that isolation does add to the poignancy of the shot.

Yep, a good case where breaking the rules makes the composition very powerful. It gives it the "in-your-face" punch. Wonderful!
