When I was a kid I had been quite terrorized by spiders (one of my earlier memories is being biten by one of them), but I have slowly overcome my fears as I grew up... and there is indeed some aesthetic beauty in the way they are made, like in this one.
I am always discovering new and interesting spiders, usually by complete accident. They are quite fascinating.
Cleaning the pond this afternoon some water splashed on a nearby rock and a few minutes later I looked over to find a very cool, very hairy spider dipping it's "fangs" (which look like small feet) into the water for a drink.
