Our local paper, the Valley News, has an article on local efforts to help the Gulf Coast area. We donated to Red Cross a couple days ago and I gave blood yesterday. Here's the status of blood supplies in New England, they are really in need of O- and B-.

Or, in Faith's case, she picks sixteen pounds and gets purple fingers, bowls of Elderberries, and, eventually, jam. Along with a few surprise spiders, slugs, and beetles along the way. We have a lot of Concord grapes this year, too.
Actually, TEN pounds, but it may as well have been 16...

They look lovely. I bet the jam will be wonderful. And I love that song.
Discovered some of the critters, but I'm sure some will be adding to the protien content.
