A Wood Duck couple landed in the river outside the office the other day. I took a couple photos, but they didn't come out very good and the male's cool looking "headpiece" wasn't obvious. Jeff borrowed the camera and crawled out to get this shot, the best of the lot.
Yesterday's Goose was taken after I crawled about twenty feet to get to the river's edge without spooking the couple. Unfortunately all of these water fowl land early in the morning when the sun is behind them, which causes tons of glare, flares, and ghosting. We decided that we need a blind at the very least, optimally a series of underground tunnels, to let us get closer. A submarine might do the trick, too.
...or a 1000mm lens? Need VR and/or tripod, too. ;-)
