This moose was less than a block away from our house: standing in the field looking lost and completely out of place. I stopped to take a photo (damn tourist!) and it galloped off a bit. Gallop probably isn't the right word, maybe parambulate or totter or teeter, whatever it is when a woodpile up and walks away.
After taking a few photos I tried to drive away without spooking it, but the moose seemed intent on staying on the side of the road just up ahead of the car. Finally it stopped in the driveway of a new, unsold house and stared suspiciously while I coasted by. It really needs to turn around and head south.
Yesterday I saw a couple of large turtles sunning in a beaver pond and a pterodactyl, er, Pileated Woodpecker flew overhead. Further down the road, in two different spots, hawks flew over the road.
you sure out-moosed my web photos
