Intense
Red Sunset

Aside from the obvious it has been an interesting Fall. Just in the last week we've seen porcupine, deer, turkey, fox, and a black bear. Zane and I were driving home from the co-op on Saturday when I spotted a flock of turkey grazing on the edge of the four lane section of route 120. "Wow, don't see that often" I was mentioning to Zane when a Black Bear head popped up in the ditch just in front of our car, looked around, and loped across the road right behind us.

Weatherwise it has gone from extremely cool, with 40's at night, to a brief foray into the 90's (both temperature and humidity) on Saturday. The warm weather was a lead-in to another huge storm rolling through the area. We've had, and I hate to use the word, extreme storms this year. Storms that move in and essentially become a micro-burst in one or more places. The neighborhood by my friend Brian's house was all but closed off overnight a week ago while they cleared trees and power-lines from the roads. Their power was off for almost two days.

Faith's last Opera performance was on Saturday. One of the chorus members was late: on the way in a tree was blocking her road so she had to find another route. Part way in on the new road she was blocked by yet another tree.

Overall it has been a drier year than last, probably a more "normal" year precipitation wise. Only 17 some inches so far, where last year ended with over 42 inches.

Those turkeys like Rt 120. Saw about 6 of them yesterday at 6pm or so near Centerra.
