Life with Raz is...interesting. Most of the time he's a lot of fun and a really smart, well mannered dog. A few times we are reaching for the phone to find an adoption agency. On one walk he'll be nearly perfect and yet the next walk, or even the second half going home, he loses his mind for a while. So I'm working on reinforcing the "good dog" parts and not losing my mind when he loses his.
But I'd say overall he's a great dog...in training. This weekend I weighed him in at 32 pounds with no sign that he's going to stop growing any time soon. He's also been losing baby teeth like crazy. The top and bottom main fangs have been coming in and over the last couple of days their "milk teeth" counterparts have been disappearing (presumably in a chew toy or my arm). Sunday night I think he lost four teeth during a half hour of fetch. There's some really big molars that are almost all of the way in. So tooth-wise he's right on schedule. Very happy to see the milk teeth go.
We go for long walks most days during lunch hour at work. It used to be that I could put on a boost of speed and out run him for a short while. No more, he's a speed monster and, apparently, has boundless energy. The photo below is him running back towards me in the woods outside the office...I think all four legs are off the ground!
What a sweet bundle of joy, even in those "put out for adoption" times, I bet.
He looks like a keeper.
