The Choice is Obvious

Just added to the story/photo gallery, filming the elusive flying frisbee dog

Doggone it...disabled the comments. It was using a third-party for the service, which meant any server problems they had effected how my pages loaded. Not good. I have an idea on a replacement using PHP on this server and will do so when I get a chance.

I received feedback from Inne pointing to the coin collecting site of George Manz, notably his Republic of Liberia one dollar coin, featuring the two Star Trek captains:

I had a cold yesterday, one that had been incubating since the weekend. It wasn't obvious until I sat down to work and ten minutes later realized I was looking at the same two lines of code, a rivulet of drool attempting escape over lip's edge. That and sinus material seemed to be the only discernable activity above neckline. Off to bed. Sixteen hours of sleep and I'm almost back to human again.

They've come up with a bridge, of sorts, from text messaging to more traditional voice-only phones. Type in a message, add a few "sound shortcuts" and then pick what voice style you want your message spoken in. A server somewhere turns it all into an audio file and delivers it to someone over the phone. Based on some of the sound shortcuts available (vomiting, farting) you can make assumptions as to the market they are targeting. ":^)
