Farnum Commute

Adding miles to your commute and loving it...

Zeke and I found a new "shortcut," highlighted above in light blue. Typically we've been walking the paved Slayton hill route, which isn't bad but, hey, it's a road. Now that most of the snow is gone we decided to try out the Farnum hill trail system. There's just one unresolved issue: how to connect from the trail south of the office to the main Farnum trail. We solved that yesterday by going straight and upm, in the most direct and difficult manner possible -- a Zeke and Jerry trademark. After catching my breath at the North Peak we headed south on Farnum trail proper.

Less than two weeks after being covered in snow the trail is dry. No Spring growth yet so it was more like a late Fall hike. Spring is close though, one of the ponds had little frogs warming up their voices. That's not to say Winter is over. Here's a reminder of the wild weather swing last year on this date.

Hey, is that ridge trail named after Dwight?

Oddly enough Dwight lived a few miles from there for a couple of years. Only association that I know of though.
