I was complaining last week about the ponderous english sections on the French audio language "tapes" I listen to. Yesterday I remembered that iTunes has a feature to adjust the starting or ending point of a track. Hmm, you don't suppose those Apple engineers actually use this information on the iPod too?

Sure enough. Highlight a track in iTunes, get info (Cmd-I), select Options tab, and adjust the start or end time (too bad you can't scrub to the right location, eh?). Sync the iPod. Now only the selected portion of the track plays. Of course you can use the iPod controls to force it to play the skipped section if you like. Good for editing out bad jokes on an otherwise great live track. Le bon travail Apple!
