EyeToy

I haven't seen this in the stores but there's a new accessory for playstations that gives them visual input. The NamTai EyeToy camera watches the player punch, kick, or wiggle fingers and uses the actions as gaming inputs. There's a brief teardown article over at EETimes.

This might be fun to experiment with as a UI interface. Instead of hitting a function key to have OS X reveal the desktop (or click the desktop icon in XP) you'd wave a dismissive hand across the screen. You could assign a whole array of shortcuts to interesting hand/finger gestures. I already know what finger gesture would work best to dismiss the office paperclip!
