Normally I don't find bugs dining on the local ferns, even though there are four or five varieties of ferns to choose from. On a walk home the other day I noticed a fern with a few of these odd pod things, as if something grabbed and folded over the leaves to form a bundle.
Out of curiosity I peeled one open a little ways and a highly annoyed green caterpillar came wiggling out. Not much of a caterpillar at all, no fancy spots or hair or anything, but obviously an architect at heart.
