Yeah, sounds like you guys have had a bit of water out there.
This the results of a big rainstorm we had just before christmas. The levels in the beaver pond rose a few inches (back at the inlet) and then fell again in the ensuing cold afterwards.
Left behind was a thin, crust with about six inches of ice lattice and cornice. Really quite something and near impossible to capture in a photo.
