He's not really as mean (or big) as he looks. At the coffee shop in Aptos, CA that I used for internet access there were lots of these fellas, and a few females, capering around for crumbs. This was taken with the zoom from a couple feet away.
A young lady with her baby told us that in a couple of weeks the birds turned aggressive and you didn't want to sit outside with them. So maybe this is foreshadowing?
When I was in Florida at Kennedy, I bought a breakfast sandwich and set it down on the table, outside. A bird hopped up on the table, grabbed it, and tried to fly off with it, but it was too heavy.
So I shared my breakfast with the birds. I have a good shot of that bird, I'll see if I can dig it up. But she looked sweet -- I like yours better.
