Chip

Wait around long enough and they come out from hiding to see what's going on. Even Zeke snuffling around ten feet away wasn't enough of a threat to scare off this little tike. In case you missed them here's some photos of one that took up residence by our pond last fall: #1, #2, and #3.

I think Spring has been called off due to rain. The temperature gauge is stuck at 50 and the driveway is a perpetual mud bog. Things are getting pretty green but it might be mold or moss.

I've been waiting for a nice day in order to resume our walks to/from work. Today we just said the heck with it and walked home in the sloppy, gray day. Once Zeke and I were in the woods the light went through a subtle change and the world glowed a most amazing green.

If you've never been to New England and only have the clichéd fall images stuck in your head this is what it looks like in the woods in Spring. Come Summer the ferns will be chest high. Much more jungle-like than this Nebraska boy expected.

Oh, so maybe THAT'S who keeps making a sunflower seed shell mess on the deck!

Naw, that's the neighbor's chipmunk.

Really nice! Great focus on such a flibbertigibbit of a critter.
