The Return of Tucker Snow Toes
Tucker Snow Toes

Our buddy Tucker is spending the Thanksgiving holiday with us while his family ventures north to Caribou, Maine. I don't envy them, considering that it snowed most of yesterday and we have about four inches of snow on the ground in New Hampshire. Caribou must be nearly glacial!

Before starting to cook T-day dinner I headed down the road with Zeke & Tucker to pick up some eggs and get a little exercise. There's a farm about a mile away which makes for a good excuse to get out of the house.

Unfortunately we all forgot about Tucker's little problem. The downside to being a downy soft Golden is that snow clumps between his toes at an alarming rate. Once it gets started Tucker stops every few minutes to chew the chunks out. Wet toe hair, from all of that biting and licking, attracts snow all the more quickly.

I tried to pitch in and nearly froze my hands in the process. Tucker won't stay still and when I try to get him to stop poor Zeke thinks I mean him and collapses. Tell Zeke that he's free and they both bound off. Repeat.

Poor Tucker, did it make it home without being converted into a furry snowball?
