Note to self...shutup!
Fuzzy Owl

Going in to work the other morning just as it was starting to get light out. There was a big owl perched on the power line. I happened to have the zoom lens so I pull off the road, flip on the emergency blinkers, and struggle to get the camera out and setup as fast as possible. Two cars pass by, but the owl seems oblivious.

First I take a picture as soon as I get out of the car. Too many times the subject spooks as I try to get into position and I'm left without even a bad photo. I'm getting closer to the owl, another car goes by, owl ignores everything, almost into a position where the busy trees aren't in the background.

"Hey, how's it going there Owl? Pretty chilly, eh?"

No, a stranger didn't pass by and break the silence. Yes, the owl was scared away.

Me and my big mouth. No idea why but I seem compelled to start up inane conversations with birds. I told this story to Faith and she says, yeah, you do that all of the time.

I can relate. Your sister gets called the "deer whisperer" because I talk to them when I'm walking the dog.
