For the past few months I've been spending some of my spare time working on a re-make of the EVAlbum. The EVAlbum is a free site for folks with electric cars to post pictures and detailed information on their vehicle. There are EVs from around the world and some of them aren't even cars: electric lawn tractors, motorcycles, scooters/mopeds, and even the unclassifiable.
The site used to consist of over seven hundred pages of static html files and we wanted to convert it to so the data was standardized and stored in a database. I created all of the web templates along with coding the php and making the mysql tables, while Mike, the site's owner, spent most of his time pouring through over 700 hand-coded web pages and turning them into to cleaned up data for the various tables in the database. A little more background can be found over at my EV site, EVConvert.
Even if you have no intention of converting or even driving an electric car I invite you to visit the EVAlbum and browse through the listings. Lots of imaginative folks out there!
