Both taken with the Nikon, 70-200mm, 1.4 teleconverter and macro diopter. It was an hour or so away from Sunset and the frog was a great subject not so much as flinching as I got down on my belly right in front of him. In fact it was so mellow that there was a snail crawling all over it (seen here on the left side, upper lip).
The water bug was another story, they can't sit still at all and I was standing on slippery rocks in the pond trying to get within focal range. At one point I almost fell face first (camera first!) into the deep section. I'll have to try again some other time to get a better focused water bug, maybe setting up the tripod in the center of the pond.
Wow!
