If you haven't heard of FlyerTalk before and you travel, or like to travel, then maybe you should check it out. I stumbled across this site quite by accident when I was flying every couple of weeks for Vicinity. I was on US Airways FF (frequent flyer) program but really didn't understand how it all worked and what the full benefits are. The FlyerTalk board is frequented by folks who do lots of travel and everyone exchanges tips & ideas to optimize comfort, benefits, and miles.
I've since become something of a mileage junky. I've always loved to fly but now I do so to optimize the benefits and in comfort. Almost all of my travel, stateside and international, is upgraded to first class or business class even though the ticket price is rock bottom. We've flown many places for free and also stayed at hotels for free. In fact I'm currently planning a week long trip to Hawaii or New Zealand next year flying first class the whole way and not having to pay for any of the tickets or hotels.
The threads I follow are:

It's a whole new subculture to be sure.
