While I'm sitting here toiling at the computer I sometimes pause to think (yeah, right) and that usually involves gazing abstractly at the large Raven Map of Wyoming in front of me. This morning my eye falls on Goose Egg, WY which is slightly southwest of Casper. It was named after the Goose Egg Ranch which, according to the website, was made famous by Owen Wister's The Virginian.
No explanation or links for Top of the World, WY which is nearby and hardly on top of anything at only 5612 feet elevation.
By the way, if you click on vector cowboy there you'll be taken to the Wyoming Spatial Data Clearinghouse, one of my favorite free map spots. I wish all states offered this service. Enough thinking...back to the code.
