While reading David Weinberger's Kids version of Small Pieces Loosely Joined I got distracted by the really cool maps and visualizations over at An Atlas of Cyberspaces. The Information Space Maps section is very cool and I rather like Rebecca Xiong's work, People Garden. Their Wireless Network Maps looks familiar while the collection of Info Spaces is pretty bizarre, including PSDoom: Doom as in interface for Process Management. Yes, must kill daemon process...

Not shown here, but certainly worth a mention is the work done by Chris Stolte and Maneesh Agrawala on visualizing route maps, probably the most significant improvement to driving directions in decades. You can try them out for yourself over at mapblast.com.
