Re-reading the manual for our Nikon 775 digital camera I discovered multishot mode where it takes 16, 400x300 pixel photos in a rapid succession and glues them together into a 1600x1200 mosaic.
I wondered how hard it would be to move the camera such that the mosaic becomes a single image, like those TV walls. Click to find out...it's *supposed* to be a world map.
This article on the scientific process of making ice cream reminded me of making snow ice cream as kids.
Meanwhile down in Florida (where kids never have snow ice cream) researchers are genetically modifying the bacteria in your mouth. The goal is to prevent tooth decay, since our "home grown" mouth bacteria converts sugars into lactic acid which slowly eats teeth.
However, three human subjects who volunteered to have BCS3-L1's parent strain applied to their teeth in the early 1980's still harbour only it and no S. mutans. The volunteers have not passed the strain to their wives and children, evidence that it cannot be spread by kissing.
This little toy car catches me each time I walk by. Surrounded by the weather worn garage it looks new, almost ready to be pedalled away.
That or it's more Sixth Sense symbolism.
Sunday was a computer-free day AND it snowed like crazy.
Lots of outside photos to share.
There's a smaller collection of photos from inside the house.
