Last week I promised a photo of the Mascoma River once it thawed. Here is how it looked on Saturday.
If you didn't click the dog immersion link in the previous article then you missed out on the Phillips Vision of the Future web site. Our future includes Enhanced Jewelry
"This responds to two needs - for body adornment and for more intimate and discreet communication, information gathering and entertainment."Hmm, how many channels of communication are possible over a technologically enhanced nipple ring?
This is something I can see Pedraum using: OKM Ear Stereo Microphones.
One of the engineers I worked with at New England Digital rigged up a version of these using small mics taped to a pair of heavy, black rimmed Clark Kent glasses. You'd see him at Dartmouth recitals sitting firmly upright, head facing forward, geeky lense-free glasses, and barely moving a muscle.
I could never do this, being born without the sitting still gene. We'd have better luck putting the ear mics on Zeke and having him sit. Better yet combine the ear mics with a mini camera and we'd have a pretty cool Zeke action cam or dog immersion system.
Since being given a year to live, back in 1987, Randolph Westphal has biked over 65,000 miles.
Westphal receives about one hundred eighty dollars a month from his sponsors, Jack Wolfskin Clothing and Biria Bike Company, and says that is enough to meet his expenses, especially with the help of places like Best Western hotels, where he is allowed to stay free.
"The last 15 years, I'm either on the road or in the hospital," Westphal acknowledged. "You can't have a family this way."
For now, Westphal's travel companion is Yukon, a 6-year-old malamute named for the Yukon River, which Westphal has seen in his travels. Yukon runs alongside Westphal and rides in a carrier attached to the bike when he gets tired.
Beautiful shot. Just gorgeous
