While making dinner last night I ran across a few aged/questionable leftovers in the fridge and decided to try my hand at home cooked dog biscuits. It was pretty easy and fun. I'd like to thank Zeke for his full support.
Ingredients used:
Basically I started throwing things in the food processor: some for good health, some had been taking up fridge space too long. Once it was all blended smoothly (pate anyone?) I added flour and mixed by hand until the dough was firm. Greased up a couple of cookie sheets, plopped some dough on, spread out to a uniform half inch or so with a little space around the edges. I sprinkled flower over the top to make it easier to handle. Before putting in the oven (about 350 degrees) I used a pizza cutter to scribe the dough into bite sized squares.
After about thirty minutes I re-cut the squares and flipped them over. Another thirty minutes and they were well cooked and drying out nicely. Shut off the oven and left the biscuits inside overnight with the door slightly ajar to dry out more. Well, first I cooled a couple of them off and had our focus group test them. Yes, happy wags of approval all around.
Nutritional yeast, by the way.
Thanks for cleaning out the frige!
Does Zeke know how lucky he is?
